see what they are doing with their blogs and check out their ranking

why is their blog so successful

If you have a business and want it to show up locally for people, add your address to your website and your social media accounts. Google will use that and start listing your business near the top (if you are still using proper SEO strategies). If you want to really boost your ranking potential, get yourself listed on sites that rate companies, such as Angie’s List. The more people that give you good stars or complimentary reviews, the higher your local business will rank.

Do Your Research: How many times have we gone over this throughout the book? Doing your research is the key to having a successful blog. You must make sure that there is a market for what you are trying to bring to the table. If the market is already saturated, time to rethink what it is you are trying to do with your blog. Don’t be afraid of digging deeper and coming up with a more narrowed version of your original niche idea.

Research your competitors. See what they are doing with their blogs and check out their ranking. What are they selling? Why is their blog so successful? Don’t be afraid to use some of the strategies they are using either.

Ask questions about the screens and features

Ask questions about the screens and features

It’s difficult to pinpoint a sweet spot in regards to how many screens an app should have, but you can begin to formulate an idea by examining the navigation horizontally (how many different menu items there are to choose from), then vertically (how deep the screens go in the navigation). For the non-technical, first-time entrepreneur, 99.9 percent of the time, I would encourage them to go with fewer features. Fewer features means more manageable, cheaper, faster, and better to build.

Once you’ve completed your paper sketches, there are apps on the iPhone (such as Pop or Marvel, both free options) that allow you to take a photo of your sketches and add linked buttons on top of the photo. Through these apps, you can link together the sketch photos so that when you tap a button, it flows to the next screen, essentially creating a prototype that provides a pretty comprehensive view of how your app would look and feel.

Share your prototype with a friend or two and let them click through. Ask questions about the screens and features. This simple exercise can be incredibly insightful.

You could also conduct a full-on user interview at this point, which is a more formal way to test each screen. The interview would entail asking the test user how they interpret each screen (i.e., what is the screen’s function), the end result they expect from each screen, and where the screen will lead.

Libparted tools the libparted library presents both gui and textbased partitioning tools

If you plan on adding a new disk in the future, learning how to partition will come in handy. Linux supports the following partitioning tools:

Fdisk Tools – This is composed of the text-based tools: fdisk, cfdisk, and sfdisk. These tools are great for use in partitioning. However, it could be a bit overwhelming for beginners who are not yet familiar with partitioning.

libparted Tools – The libparted library presents both GUI and text-based partitioning tools. One particular example is GParted as shown in the screenshot below. The interface makes it easier to use for beginners.

GPT fdisk Tools – These are tools created for GPT (Globally Unique Identifier Partition Table) disks using the fdisk tools.

Figure 12: GParted - GUI-based partitioning tool

Here are some commands that you can use to check the existing disk space on your computer:

Commands

What it does

df -h

This command displays the disk space usage in all of the mounted devices. The -h option presents the results in a human-readable output, using G for gigabytes or M for megabytes sizes.

du /home/edulaney/files/

This command displays all the files inside the specified directory and their corresponding file sizes. You can also specify a filename.

du -s /home/edulaney/files/

The –s option provides the total file size of the specified directory

SOME COMPUTERS MAKE IT OBVIOUS WHILE OTHERS DONT GIVE YOU THAT INFORMATION

Many Times ItS The F12 Key

An upgrade installation will replace your older version of Windows such as Windows 7 or Windows 8 with Windows 10 and keep all of your files, programs, installed printers, and other settings intact. It’s still a good idea to back up your important files before doing an upgrade installation because there is always the chance that something can go wrong and you will end up with corrupt version of Windows and then end up having to do a clean installation regardless.

Tip

I prefer clean installations of Windows compared to doing upgrades, because when you do an upgrade there is a chance you may keep any existing problems you might have had with your previous version of Windows.

How to Install Windows

Like I mentioned before, the process for installing Windows is pretty simple, and I will now go over the steps to perform a clean installation of Windows 10. You can perform an upgrade from within Windows or from booting to the Windows DVD, but for a clean installation you will want to boot from the Windows DVD to start the installation process. If your computer is not set to read from your CD\DVD drive first, then you will need to either go into the BIOS and change the boot order, or look for the key that needs to be pressed on startup that will let you choose the boot device. Some computers make it obvious while others don’t give you that information. Many times it’s the F12 key. For information on how to change your boot order, check out the link below.

if the target ports send a reset response then the ports are closed

XMAS Scan: This scan, also referred to as a TCP scan, works by sending packets to the port. These packets can be PSH, URG, or FIN flags. If the target ports send a reset response, then the ports are closed.

FIN Scan: Like an XMAS scan, a FIN scan sends a FIN flag, and if there is no response the port is open.

ACK Scan: An ACK scan does not determine if a port is open or closed. Instead, it determines if the port is protected by a firewall or another protection system.

Null Scan: Null scanning is similar to XMAS scanning, except that it sends a packet with without TCP flags set.

Idle Scan: An idle scan is a scan that takes advantage of the predictable IP ID flaw exploit without revealing the hacker’s IP address.

Enumeration

Enumeration is the mathematical and computer science concept of listing all items in a set. The term is used in hacking to refer to checking all of the ports on a target system. Enumeration is the process of establishing a connection with the target system to perform queries to gain a basic knowledge of the network. Enumeration is essentially scanning ports to find information about the network. During enumeration, a hacker can extract information about file shares, usernames, group names, IP tables, hostnames, and other information. There are several types of protocols used in enumeration. The enumeration protocols are NetBIOS (Network Basic Input/Output System), SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol), LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol), NTP (Network Time Protocol), SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol), DNS (Domain Name System), SMB (Server Message Block), and Linux/Windows. Enumeration is vital to hacking because the information gathered can be used in penetration attacks. Below is a list of Ports used in enumeration:

The Results Are Relevant To The Keyword

The results are relevant to the keyword

In other words, if someone searches on Amazon using the default category “all”, then relevancerank matters the most. But if someone uses a specific category for their search, then psrank matters the most. So, there are two different sorts of searches.

As an example, a search for dog toys with the category option set to “all” will provide results that have been sorted by relevance. The results are relevant to the keyword. It’s also important to remember that most people search using the default “all” category.

Now, if a search for dog toys was done with the category option being changed to “pet supplies”, the results will be sorted by their best-selling rank. The exact same keywords are used, but a specific category was selected to search with rather than using the default “all” category. This difference in the search provides results that are sorted differently.

Our strategy should include both organic SEO and paid search. However, paid search is more important for savvier Amazon shoppers that change the default category. For example, if you are a beginner shopper, and you don’t really know what you want or even your way around Amazon, chances are you will leave the default “all” setting as is and won’t change it.
